The Nielsen Company was founded in 1963 by Gerald Nielsen, Sr.  The primary business of the Company is acquisition, leasing and management of commercial office space.  The Nielsen Company was among the pioneer developers of corporate real estate in Fairfield County.  In fact, Thorndal Circle Office park was the first project of its kind in Darien. Being first is great for the history books, but staying first is what matters in the ever changing world of commercial real estate. The Nielsen Company owns and manages over 250,000 square feet of commercial space in the New England area.  The Thorndal Circle office buildings are located in a "park setting" with numerous amenities.  Access to the properties is easily obtained by car or train.  Tenants are provided with access on a 7 day/24 hour basis to suit their business needs. As a family owned business, The Nielsen Company prides itself on a hands-on management style.  In virtually all matters a tenant deals directly with a principal of the company.

For the convenience of our tenants, the office park leases space to Michael Joseph's Catering (www.michael-josephs.com) which offers full food service for take-out or catering for office meetings and corporate events.

Over the past few years, the Fairfield market has seen a growth in the commercial market, specifically financial service companies.  Companies have found Fairfield County can offer their employees an easier commute with easy access to trains to the city, high end quality work environments and cost savings.

In 2005, through a partnership, The Nielsen Company acquired 120 Tokeneke Road located in Darien.  The 40,000 square foot building interior was retrofitted with a designer look and is home to Colangelo Marketing Synergy.

The Nielsen Company has continued to grow and acquire additional properties in the New England area and is currently managed by Gerald A. Nielsen, Jr, who joined his father in managing the Company in 1987.
